If you have a sitemap on your website, will it affect the way PageRank is distributed? In essence, will your PageRank decrease because you have a sitemap link?

Your PageRank cannot decrease, however the amount that you are sharing with each link will. With a Sitemap, generally those are pages that are internal, thus sharing PageRank with your own internal pages is a good strategy, as long as each is a marketing page - you don't want to give PageRank to non-marketing pages as it is just a waste. Here is an article about PageRank that will be very helpful to you. www.webmarketingnow.com

No....Sitemap are meant to have better indexing on search engine...Like you are providing all of your link from one page so search engine need not to to search for links on your website....and they can easily crawled. seodelhi.freelancebank.com
