Just thought I would throw out a good discussion topic: What do you use to build your web pages? With so many choices out there I have to say that my preference is to design my images, buttons and banners in Photoshop and then use Dreamweaver to put the site together (although I still kind of like to do my HTML by hand sometimes).

I usually use Microsoft Front page as I am not that strong at pure HTML. This probably why my pages never work in Fire Fox. :) I have to learn I know I do.

FrontPage is what most people use when they first get into HTML, because it is familar and easy to understand (uses most of the same friendly Windows controls). But I tell you, once you try Dreamweaver and get a little comfortable, you will never turn back!

I have my set of development tools. I have my integrated development environment (IDE) tool taken cared of by Dreamweaver. I use Adobe Photoshop for image editing. For local testing, I installed on my PC the WAMP technology (Windows Apache MYSQL PHP) . I also use diferent browsers for testing to include FIrefox, IE, Opera and Netscape.

Nice topic! I do use WMAP, Macromedia Dreamweaver for some four years, now I am using Macromedia 8. for graphic design I prefer Macromedia Fireworks, it is easier to use and file formats are compatible with Photoshop. I enjoy browsing open source ready scripts, you can always find something interesting! that's my preferred pastime!

I use a freeware program called Aptana, I believe it's written in Java. It's code editing software, not a WYSIWYG like Dreamweaver. There's nothing wrong with using a WYSIWYG Editor per say but it can generate invalid code occasionally. Aptana doesn't support PHP editing yet as it's still in development but for CSS and HTML it has code completion and a box that will open up to reccomend values to be used, based on what you've already typed. I use Photoshop for design but now I use CSS so much, time spent in PS is becoming less and less. I'll test out my pages in Firefox and Internet Explorer as I develop. You can check out Aptana yourself here

Do you use CodeCharge? I think it's like playing lego. I did use it for some online scripts as well as for the CRM application here at the local network. It rocks! I did discover it some months ago ( yes late but not too late) and I didn't find difficulties in using it. Did you use it ?

I use the macromedia package: dreamweaver, fireworks and flash. dreamweaver allows you to edit the htm (or php or css...) very easily when the editor doesn't do what you want. I don't have anything to test php in my computer, I like it light and fast, i use smartftp to upload and try in place. About browsers, I have firefox and IE. I will have to update to IE7 soon, some of my sites that look good in IE6 look funny in IE7. Sandra.:)

If you upgrade to the latest Dreamweaver I think it's code generation is vastly improved, the last version coiuldn't handle Div's perticularly well which put me off it. I suppose I'l list all the programs I use for web design; Aptana Notepad Adobe Photoshop Smart FTP and obviously IE and Firefox for checking compatibility.
