Everything I know about CSS has been from online sources. There are a lot of tutorials online with examples. I've provided some links to get you started. (I haven't found any books that are good enough to recommend).

The sites listed here are terrific. I used two books (along with whatever site popped up after doing a specific web search) to learn CSS (and I hope I'm getting these right), Dan Schafer (sp?)'s "Designing Without Tables Using CSS" and also (um, a female author, same publisher) CSS: Tips, Tricks, and Hacks. I continue to use these books as reference guides; I find it nice to flip through a book and make permanent notes rather than scrolling through (usually) unedited web content. The best way to learn CSS, in my opinion, is to learn by making mistakes and by finding the appropriate solution online or in these two books.
