| I am going to put some interactive elements on my website. I thought about putting a shoutbox near the shopping area to encourage interaction but don't know if that is wise. Where would you place a chat box and a shout box on a discount retail site? |

| I'm not sure I'd have one at all if I'm honest, user posted reviews would be a good idea if you don't have them already, they also add content.

| I would have to agree that the user review would be your best bet. I have not seen many shoutboxes myself on websites that are selling something. I have seen them used alot of forums though. |

| Shout boxes are crap and an equivalent to one line javascript chat.
