Bad news for Sony PS3 owners

We all love playing online, right? Its great! Its going to cost money to use! Hurrah!

Wait.. I thought it was free??

I recently read a post in which Sony interviewed some people in Asia and asked them if they would pay for the PSN and it looks like the bunch of fools said yes..

The article is on google news by typing in Playstation network. Its called "Sony to charge for PSN"

I hope to god this isnt true or wont happen because Sony are having enough problems as it is, this will not help at all. I for one would stop using almost every online service, PSN should remain free.

Being free is the ONLY strength the PS3 has over the 360.

Blu ray is nice too, not that I see myself using it in the next few years

If you want to use Blu-Ray do yourself a favour and don't get a PS3 for that reason, get a proper player.

The whole PS3 unit is cheaper than a Blu-Ray player for a reason xD

PS3 Blue ray drive is extremely slow. this is why most games have a lot of uncompressed files that take up so much space on the blue ray disk, thus cutting down read time.

Was just what i was gonna say, you took the exact words out of my mouth.
I can`t see them charging myself, well apart of me can and another can`t.
Cause on the one hand i heard alot of PS3s have been having hardware failure and so that`ll cost sony more money to replace, and on the other hand it`s free, and if they just suddenly charge then people will be p-ied off becauseo fit and thus will probs hate sony.

So do a lot of people, thats why they buy them.

I think in part the PSN might charge for the "Gold package" if you will, you get all the extras and beta stuff or something but the "Silver package" would be what we get now. Optional extras are good as long as we get the good basics for free

I think PS3 has a s*itload of advantages over 360:
1. Network is (well maybe not for long) free
2. HOLY CRAP THE GRAPHICS ARE 2000000000 TIMES BETTER
3. Their are alot of good games out there that look better on PS3 than on 360 (COD 4 is a good example, GH3 is too)

Ok well maybe not that many but those are the ones i see

Your points 2) and 3) are the same.. just said in a different way.

An as SW said, not true anyway!!

And thats not me being a b***chy 360 owner, its just true.
