Default Can I use the XBox 360 as an up-converting DVD
player (not talking about the HD-DVD add-on)? If so, is it pretty good quality compared to the $100 upconverting DVD players available?

it will only upconvert it to 720x480 resolution which is one step better then standerd def. i think they sell an upconverting dvd player that can get movies up to 1080i using hdmi for only $89

yes, but u need to buy the vga cable separate ( $30 - 40) and its allrite quality
