Hello everyone. I had vista running on this PC and GTA IV ran smoothly with overclocked graphics card. Everything was smooth. Then I upgraded to XP SP3. I installed the same ghx card drivers, overclocked it even faster, did all updates, ran the game at lowest and it lags like hell. I dont know what to try but when I had vista SP1, it ran as smooth as ever.
Windows XP SP3 3GB RAM DDR2 3.00Ghz (x2) AMD Athlon 64 Dual NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT 1GB 500 GB SATA HDD As I said, it RAN lovely on VISTA, I would have thought XP would be even faster. Please help :) Thanks Tom |

Ermmm welll... my guess is that as xp does not support dx 10 and yet vista does
that may bee why and because even those your pc in general may run faster on the xp graphics support wisee i'm guessing vista Is Gta IV Dx 10? xD |

I believe this was a common issue with many Nvidia users, they released a patch, although it didn't work for me.

Maybe also it would have been wise to run it on XP as it was, before OC'ing it even further.
Even if thats not the issue now, in the future that can prevent confusion and narrow the problem down quicker.
