Another line of games that has always impressed me is the Hitman series. From the beginnings to the latest Contracts and Blood Money, Hitman has always kept me interested despite your end goal being the same in almost every case.

I think what I like most is the non-linear approach - the fact you can go in disguised or all guns blazing and still get the job done. The range of weapons and missions are always well varied and the difficulty levels are well spaced out depending on whether or not you want to be forced to do things properly rather than shoot everything in sight.

Anyone else a fan?

This is one of my favorite games, but I have played it on PS2 I think it's the same game. Yeah well I just think it is great just the same for some of the reasons you listed above.

I can't get on with consoles, particularly when it comes to shooters - I just can't seem to aim with those funny sticks.

I sit down to play on the PS2 and spend half an hour looking for the keyboard and mouse ;)

See now I prefer to play these sort of shooting games on the console, all though the only console I will play is the PS2 as I know the pad like the back of my hand.
I can't get used to all the fiddling with the mouse on the pc, I will be sat there for ages looking for the little knobby stick! :)

Nah I can't get on with those joypads either, I don't know what it is about them but my hand-eye coordination goes back to that of a 2 year old as soon as I pick one up.

Just can't get to grips with looking around me with a joypad - general movement is fine.
