No, just an xbox and a broadband internet connection. The router would help split a connection for your xbox & your pc & whatever other computers may be on your network, but you can also share the internet connection via your computer if you've got the setup. (The router is the easiest way.)If you want to take it a step further you could get a wireless router & the wireless adapter for the xbox (360) which will run you about 100 bucks. I think it's worth it just to avoid all those messy cables.

no all you need is an internet connection and a router. you dont need a pc all a pc does is hook up to the router not help the internet connection and if your have live add me my live name is NICA KING

I think you may need a PC because to set the account up you need Windows Live login details, but there are all sorts of ways around this. (set one up on somebody else's computer, but make sure you set the age to OVER 18) and you may be able to do it from the xbox itself.
