HOw do you set up a LAN for playing games??

I believe you just connect all your computers together using a router. not too sure though?

Or a standalone hub as Internet access is not needed.

If you all want to play online then a straight forward network with a router/modem.

Well you just log on to a server hosting the game.

If you want to play with just your friends you will need to rent time on a server or a actual server, I think.

Not really...

A LAN is a term used for 'LAN Party' where a group of people have their PCs in one room and play against each other.

So if you are playing against each-other from 'miles away' you are playing 'online' not on a 'LAN' and thus are using the wrong terminology.

Yeah, rent a server, it's expensive though.

You may be able to rent time from someone who rents their own server, which would be cheaper.
