I'm still playing number one. Sent number two back after one day because it was lousy.

Kept my original xbox purely and simply for Halo 1.

Well, lets hope the developers get the game code optimized for DX10 then, seeing as everybody is currently struggling to get any kind of decent framerate and detail settings, even with an oc'd x6800/8800 ultra combo, on the taster first-level release.

I feel sorry for those people that have bought DX10 cards and are going to have to use emulating software to run their cards when DX10.1 comes out, M$ screwing people over again or actually it is more like the GPU makers screwing people over as it was always M$' intention to release DX10.1

Eventually is the operative word fella. Look how long it took to make use of DX9.....

Saying that, look how long it's taken to make use of dual-core cpu's in a mainstream way. 2 years? 3 years? something like that.

Wonder how long it'll take until quad-core's benefit from having 4 cores.

In their defence though, developers writing any code and testing it upon completion can take years potentially.

I suppose there is that case.

But on the other hand, even if it does take 2-3yrs to kick in then at least i'll be running a quad core DX10 system, so wont need to upgrade then.

True, but at that point in time we'll probably have 8-core cpu's or somesuch, with 8950Ultras, 2ghz ddr3, flash hdd's mainstream etc etc. And the mainstream pricing to match
