 Nascar 2002 for PC - How to use Paintshop

This may not be correct forum to post to, if not please advise.
Anyway, I can use the paint shop, however, I cannot get the numbers / lettering to be correctly written to the left side of the car. They are always backward.
I'm unable to find a paint shop ...
