Hey. I don't know if anyone is interested in the Pokemon games, anyway I live in the UK and I would like to buy a US version of the game, as its just been released in US.

The UK release is still a while, so dose anyone know a legit US online store, which will ship to the UK? I don't want anything like Ebay either. Prices don't matter.

Thanks,
BlueEew.

Are you talking about trying to run this game on a Nintendo DS Blue?
In case you didn't know all consoles shipped to the UK are for the UK market and unless chipped cannot play non uk games.
I hope we are not going to go down the road of anyone asking how to chip consoles.
;)

My boys are driving me nuts about this game. Cannot wait until it's release so they can be quiet about it. Sorry but that is all I have been hearing about.

Or you can buy a DS that was produced for the US, I think. Maybe? It would be easiest just to wait for it to be released over the in UK...very little hassle and chance for mixup there.

actually, the nintendo ds is 100% region free.
i know this as i have a UK ds console and it plays all my us import titles.
my local independant gaming shop stocks us imports as soon as they are released in the states and they all play fine. if it werent for the different boxart, you wouldnt even know they were imports.

not only is importing cheaper, you also get the games around 3-6 months earlier.
i had final fantasy 3, starfox command, phoenix wright 2 and pokemon pearl long before the uk release dates. i also have elite beat agents which isnt even scheduled to come out over here.

oh, and by the way, the new pokemon games are well worth it. nintendo wifi connection battles and trading? hell yeah!!!!

Hello dubers

Welcome to TCF

Although your post is correct in some ways it is not entirely factual.

I applogise for my eroneous statement in post 2.

DS's for the most part are indeed Region Free except for some circumstances, more on that here.

So this means that I can still play an US Pokemon Diamond and Pearl game in my UK version Nintendo DS. I know people (on the Internet) who used an Japanese game in their US console.

Yes but the text, if any, may all be in Japanese.

Yeah I know that, but now its out in the US, I can play and read the game as the US versions are written in the English language.

copy/pasted from wikipedia...
Quote:
The Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS do not have regional lockout; because of this, import games can be played on those systems. In other words, a Japanese game would work on an American unit, although the game would likely not be in the user's native language and might be different from the product as released in other countries. Many "hardcore gamers" import games, usually from Japan or North America, if the game is released much earlier in that country than in their own, or for other reasons.
therefore my comment was completely factual. all i said was that the ds is 100% region free. i didnt claim that it somehow translated foreign games into english.

pokemon diamond pearl is out in america and therefore isnt in a foreign language anyway and is completely playable, the only difference being the age ratings on the cover are from the ESRB who are the america censors.

thanks for the welcome though :) nice site.
