PS3 to Cost about $600 Dollars!

I can't believe that the new PS3 is going to be released with a $600 US price tag! Are they crazy!!! $600 for a console system is just plain stupid. From what I hear it's the propriatary blue ray DVD technology which is causing the price to be so high. I think Sony just priced themselves out of a market they once owned!

I agree I think it is way to expensive, but never the less you will get the fools who will pay the 'top' price tag, just because they have to have the latest & greatest.

Yes you will always have that tech head group that will always pay top dollar for the latest gadgets but the reality is they are not a big enough market segment to make or brake a console system.

You need to appeal to the masses and the masses just won't spend $600!

I agree, so hopefully the price will drop rather quickly after its launch date, so that it appeals more the average buyer. As there is no way I am going to pay that much even if I have to wait 6 months+ for the price to drop.
