PS3 is cheaper because Sony knows they can't sell a console for 1500 bucks. They lose a lot of money for every PS3 made and they hope to get money back from game sales. They will fail.

I have never really been a fan of any of these consoles or make of consoles to be honest. I think that the Playstation three will probably own the Xbox360 though. Playstation always owns them, and Wii owns both of the.

PS3 they are 1 big family that kept there biz around 4 a long time!!! X-BOX sucks and hasn't been around longenough 2 no what people like and the price suks but high quality sorta but not as suficiant as the players themself but really really close PS will overcome this 1 of these days!!!!LATERi hope.

I think its PS3 because it's graphics and sound is amazing and far better than XBOX360. But I'm not telling you not to buy and XBOX360. Its your choice.

ps3's give u a built in blueray player wich would set ya back £600 so this is great its got a load of features like:
streming music, HD games,dvd's, blueray movies, music, video, internet wireless multiplay online
this costs £400 whareas the 360 is £280 and the HDDVD player is a extra £100 is £400 but the xbox only has these features:
hddvd movies, video, games, music
the intenet play is a subscription a bit naff!

Don't bother with XBOX 360 use PS3, PS3's are going to be like PC, a few days ago has released the first Linux Operation System for PS3, and than you can use the PS3 like Computer.

Sony have gone way downhill.

They have great ideas for new technology but they get things wrong in the line, muckup and loose loads of money.

2 years ago they promised us that UMD was going to catch on and they'd sell it to companys like panasonic and Toshiba to make UMD players.

No-one bought it.

If the PS3 is so much like a computer why not actually buy a computer? Myself I think that the PS3 is a rip off. Yeah sure the Blu Ray Players are like £600 but I think they're rip off aswell. What's wrong with DVD on a HDTV? I was reading an article the other day and only 50% of PS3 owners were aware that it had a Blu-Ray drive and that only 10% of them actually used it. If you want a games console go for the X Box because it is a game console not a fake computer like the PS3. In my opinion the PC platform is the best for gaming. You don't see decent PS3 games for £2-£3 as you do for the PC. Consoles die out because they can't be upgraded. At least you can upgrade the PC piece by piece to make sure it plays all the latest games.

Here's a thought. I think that Sony and Microsoft should combine forces to create the ultimate console. With both names backing it imagine how much of them they would sell. Especially if they made it compatiable with the older consoles. Why not invite Nintendo and Sega to join in?

Many moons ago sony and nintendo did get together, but fell out and the console never made it to market
