I think I would like a strategy came. I quite like command and conquer, or sim city (not The Sims though). I saw that World of Warcraft is popular - is it any good, if so which version is best?

Any other recommendations?

I've looked but I'm not sure what to pick.

Personally, I like First Person Shooters and would recommend COD WAW. The last strategy game i played was World in Conflict, and i found it pretty weak. You mentioned the C&C games, have you played Red Alert3? The last one I played was Tiberium Wars3, and I didn't even know about RA3. Tiberium Wars 3 was as good as the others. I may have to get RA3. It also looks like a new one, Tiberium Dawn, is coming out, but they don't even have a release date for that one.

I avoid games like WOW because it is entirely internet based and i think you have to pay every month to play. I like to buy a game and it's MINE. That's also why i will not buy any game that demands you load that virus STEAM on your computer.

stragedy? age of empires 3 + its expansions is good. for FPS, i like crysis, providing you have a decent system, which do you!

Team Fortress 2 is the best multiplayer game released in a very, very long time. I would pick up the Orange Box for $30 or just grab it for $20.

Don't get WoW, you could play it on a computer from 2001 and it's just the same endless grinding as most MMOs.
