RETROThe sketch was originally written for the British television comedy series At last the 1948 show by the show's four writer-performers: <Link hidden. RETROYes, I read that. I'm not sure I believe it but I'd need to find the DVD insert to remind myself.

RETROThey were available everywhere as far as I recall. I seem to remember buying mine in Dixons in London.

It was a great machine similar to the Tandy TRS-80 Color Computer at the time. It came with 32mb Ram and you loaded programs and games in by cassette tape. Also had a cut down version of M$ Basic built in on a ROM. No monitor, it just plugged in the TV. My System: Home Build

RETROI think the company went bust fairly quickly, so after that, they had a bit of a cult following.

RETROI never did a Dragon column, mine were for the Apple and BBC. I tested any listings I printed, too. I even corrected some.

There was only really one game I printed that was unique. It was a cave, a small figure you controlled and a bigger blue monster. When you ran it ran after. When you changed direction it changed to cut you off. It inexorably got closer until it caught you. The unique aspect was that the writer had deliberately refused to give you a gun so you always got eaten. I really liked printing that one. My System: Tim

RETROI found what I'd been thinking about - the Forth micro was the Jupiter Ace, not the Dragon.

RETROI have a probably false memory of one of the magazines selling bar-code readers and printing bar-codes by each listing so you could scan them in like you were on a shopping spree.
