ok so i recently purchased a sharp 42 inch lcd tv [lc-40e67u] model. I have my xbox 360 connected to the tv through hdmi, yet my tv (in the upper right corner) states that the image quality is 480p, and it is. My old tv automatically recognized quality cables for hd gaming. What can i do to increase the picture quality. I have scoured the sharp operation manual and have found nothing helpful...

I may be wrong here, but I believe the Game has to support 1080p and not many do at present. The 360 scaler will automatically set the resolution.

It's the XBox end I think you ought to be be changing - not the TV.
