my sims 2 will not play. everytime i but it in the drive it brings up a pop up message saying please ensure the sims 2 disc is in the drive, select ok and restrt the application. can anyone help me

Is the disc scratched or dirty?

Does the drive recognise other discs?

Does the drive show up in Device Manager?
