Yes update drivers.
Also check to see if the heatsink and fan on the graphics card is free form dust.
It is possible that overheating is causing the problem,thats why it happens during games(the game puts the graphics card under load and the card heats up).
Check all fans and heatsinks for dust while you are at it.
To check driver version go to
Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager/Display adapters/right click properties/click Driver.
To check refresh rate go to
Control Panel/Display/Settings/Advanced/Monitor.
