Alan Wake is a game created for the best that PC hardware can offer in a few months. when I say best I mean best heres what the developers were running the demo on as seen in the link to the movie demos.

Windows Vista
Direct 10
CPU: Quad Intel Core 2 Processor 3.73 Ghz thats four Processors!
Graphics: Nvidia 7900GTX

It's windows Vista only or XBox 360 and dual core is a minimum as it needs 80% of one processor just to calculate physics. Really it needs A CPU to run the game one CPU to help with rendering another for Physics calculations. It's a good example of what Wintows Vista is capable of with it's new graphics abilities. I'm sure they went over spec on the processor as the graphics cards to run all the graphics and physics calculations are not yet available.

That's amazing. Just look at his face in this screenshot: http://www.alanwake.com/screenshots/..._Wake_2006_001

I wonder what would happen if we tried to run this game on an average PC. Do you think that they will dumb down the graphics a bit for other less "advataged" PCs?

They asked the developer about that it will not work on a single core PC and the graphics will work toned down on only a dual core processor. For the graphics on full you need a quad core processor and the graphics card power of a Geforce 7950.

From the pictures which I have seen the graphics look amazing and I bet it will be a fantastic game to play, it is a shame it is going to be limited to those who can afford the minimum requirements, but I suppose technology has to move on at some point.

Well if they have made th graphics that amazingly high end, who can play this game apart from the really hard core high end gamers? Seems like a waste of money if you can't run the game on an average computer..
