I think it largely depends what you want to do with it.

PSP is good for games, music and video.

The DS has stuff like brain training tests, puzzles and such like.

I would think you would be better of with a Samsung NC10 or something. Far more interesting, more useful, more capable, and allow you to get on the internet at hopefully the blazingly fast speeds of the datacentre (couple hundred megs perhaps?) :)

Yeah, mine's nearly made my PSP obsolete, except for the regular PSP games. Longer battery life..and a keyboard!

I would think that perhaps you could actually WORK and do the job you are being paid for.................

LOL Ok, now that we've all had a laugh, I can't speak about the Samsung that server mentioned, but I have used my daughters DS a few times. It's fun. Also, like Hybrid mentioned, you can get online with the DS, can you with the PSP?

Yes.

The Samsung is just one of those little laptops, I find mine pretty useful for troubleshooting networks etc as well, something to think about.

Yes, PSP 3000 was recently released, the next "generation" of PSP.

Note:
As far as console generations are generally talked about, the difference between PSP-1000,2000 and 3000 is not classed as a "generation"

There's no reason to buy a "new" PSP anyway, most of their utility comes from custom firmware.

I completely agree, I think it's just a classic example of wanting more money.

But you can't pin it all on firmware - the cases have gradually got slimmer and lighter (The 2000 being nicknamed "slim and lite") and the 3000 actually has a bigger screen with a higher resolution.
