Are you talking about just using the case and putting PC components inside?

Or installing a Windows OS on the existing XBox as it is? If the latter, it has been much argued about whether or not the arcitecture of the CPU supports it. And it is my understanding that you can install it, but you should replace the original HDD with a standard SATA drive and install on that. This is because, without complicating it and connecting it to your PC, you can't delete the XBox OS from the drive. And Windows OS may or may not recognise it and you'd run into a whole load of problems and it would have a heart attack trying to boot into it I suspect ![]() Anyway, even if you did, I think you would have very limited port control, if any, and obviously being a games console it isn't exactly the height of connectivity anyway. I guess it's worth a try, if you're just dong it for interest. But for any other reason than interest, it's entirely not worth it. You could probably build a better PC with Windows 7 for less than the price of an XBox 360 and a genuine copy of Windows. My System: FordyPC

ok and yes it was the latter, but i wasthinking if probably configuered to a computer desktop system and setup this would be a cheaper and easier way to get this type of computing perfomance out of such a small box, if this type of computer would have to be made to the same specs of a xbox360 it would be more than 450 quid ...
I would like to no more views on if it would be worth it i have taken your opions on board. |

You think you can't get a good small PC for £450 or less??
Google some of the following: Small form factor PC's mini ITX PC's LAPTOP NETBOOK Try visiting: www.shuttle.com Or have a look at Carbon's computer parts thread on these forums. If you want to do the XBox thing for interest, that's fine, don't get me wrong, I'm not having a go. It's just that installing a Windows OS on a 360 is not the best solution to a small fast cheap PC. Everyone would be doing it. Especially grannys.

lol i agree it would be good but like for the price of an elite it offers graphics behond belief and good proccesing power, for the money if a good windows config could be made to incoperate into this console and use it as an every day pc it would be good for saying could only pick an elite for 200 or so GBP.
