Never knew that.

I sense a market opening for my rich multi-billion pound buisness - Extreeme Gam3r Crap computers.

For playing games like Crysis, that demand such puny hardware compared to their Double OCTA Sli combined with XFire, and 5 i7's modded onto 3 Asus RAMPAGE mobos, with a 99999999999999999W Octa rail modular PSU and a 2TB 4850GTXFRS in each slot and of course 10TB of DDR6000 RAM

Anywho.. you never know

It's basically because the game looks at what hardware you have and compared it to a sort of list, and thinks, pffft this isn't anywhere on this list, this computer must be really ancient. So sometimes they go into ultra craptacular mode with minimal graphics, or sometimes they will just tell you your computer is too old to run the game.

Crap. I forgot when you link a youtube link it imbeds the vid and you CAN'T see the comments or the real address for that matter. Anyways, you are both wrong Fordy and server. go to w w w youtube.com/watch?v=upbaH95sVcg&feature=related and read the comments. (hopefuly THAT won't inbed the video) or just read what I quote from there.

its an error which occurs if you use a 8x00,9x00 or a getter card.. its simply too less in usage so it try to get more requirements and delet or add new stuff ;) sounds a bit weird but i read it so :D only 1 solution i know is to use an older graphics card like a 7x00 or so

sadly....the game has no idea what to do with all that power! I was able to fix my by downloading "Pure Faction" the drawback is that you can't MP with ppl not using "Pure Faction"

REDxFROG (5 months ago)

wrong.
Also, there's a new version. 2.0
With it you can auto-download maps.

Cyrus99 (10 months ago)

There is an fix for this :) type on google "pure faction" and download it. It also adds anti-cheat support.

Glad it was helpful. But now I have a question lol. I didn't google or check out pure faction. Is it a program specific to Red Faction or does it work with other old games?

BTW Red Faction looked pretty cool. I saw some links on how to make it work with Vista. I may download it. Let me know if it's good or if I'm just wasting my time.
