I wanted to substitute a power supply which has the 20 pin connector with a known good, 24 pin ATX just to test the 20 pin supply. can I just slide the removable 4 pins off and the supply will be the same pinout as a 20 pin connector? Thanks!

Yep, exactly the same.

I thought they might be but, wanted to make sure. I tried the substitute supply but the pc still, got nothing on the monitor and the green light that comes on just stays on for maybe 15 or 20 seconds and, just the power supply fan keeps running. same thing with both supplies. I even tried different memory. I think this tower was dropped
may, have a broken circuit or circuits on the mother board. Think I will remove it and check. oh what fun . Thanks Again!
