I have an Antec 1200 case and I was wondering how I would go about connecting the chassis fans to the motherboard for control via software. I think I would need an adapter since they are just molex cables for power. If that is true, is there such an adapter?

I'm not even sure if the software exists to do what you want!

Maybe you misunderstood my post. I am just trying to figure out how to connect the chassis fans to my motherboard so I can use the software that came with my motherboard, or others, that lets you monitor and control chassis fans.

Molex is for power last I remember, Don't you have little nubs on the front you turn to increase or decrease the fan speeds?

I think the only fan linked to the motherboard is the CPU fan so it can spin faster when the processor gets hot.

I think I found what I need, but I'm not sure of the voltage for each fan. 8 bucks for each 4 pin molex to a 3 pin adapter (will fit on mobo) doesn't seem worth it to me now that I look at it.

its got 6 fans, 7 if you add your own. Thats 48 bucks at least, probably an expense you don't need, especially since the case sounds like a hurricane if you put them all on top =P

Any software for the mobo (motheboard) will only allow you to see the fan speeds, not adjust them.

My motherboard (Asus P5Q Deluxe) shows that I can change the chassis fan speeds through the software it came with. It might lock the option once it has fans connected or something, I don't know for sure.

I also have an asus mobo. While the software that came with it looks like it can control fan speeds, it can't.
