If someone would be so kind the following is the system that I will be running on my system. I am building it myself and it will be used for video edition and some light marketing production. Basically I need to know what is a good case for this unit, plus is my power supply good enough. Thank You.

I am not familiar with your graphics card but Im sure your PSU is up to the job.

The choice of case is more about personal preference than anything else(it must be ATX and obviously wide enough to accommodate the CPU Cooler). What are you willing to spend and what do you want it to look like?An red aliens head with flashing lights lol or a discreet functional case that blends well with your other stuff(tv/dvd etc)? Good post Krill
. Hi again Clinton, as Krill states it's all about personal preference. Some people like the 'bling' factor, some, like myself, like understated and subtle. Whats the budget for your case? Which of the above camps do you fall into? On your desk or on the floor? Give us answers to those questions and it will aid in giving you some examples. Regarding the psu. 850w is massive overkill, and Coolermaster psu's (they don't make their own) tend to run hot. I've said the following on a few recent threads but that case for the psu you've quoted is a standard sized ATX case, which has to contend with a lot of heatsinks (the more wattage the more heatsinks) which means they're all crushed in the case, reducing airflow and increasing ambient heat. I strongly recommend, if you want to go high-wattage, a compromise (in wattage anyway, not in quality) in the Enermax Infiniti 720w. One of the best psu's on the market today. Considering the rest of your build it makes sense to get a very good quality psu.

I have the Antec P150 and I find it a really nice case. Its a good size medium tower, very understated and a good choice if you are looking for something quiet (for example it has mounting which cuts hard drive noise to virtually zero, sound damping panels, etc). My came with a PSU but there is a version without the power supply called the Antec Solo. Unfortunately its not the cheapest case on the market, but maybe worth a look. If you need something bigger then the Antec p180 series are highly regarded, with bottom mounting PSU section, but again not cheap. May not be the type of thing that you are looking for but I thought worth mentioning just in case.

I would like a case under a hundred us dollars (I am on a budget and this computer so far is costing me over $2,300 -- us). I would say it falls into the latter of the two listed . . . After all I think the moon landing was fake so aliens aren't my thing hahahahahaha. Really though, I want something that looks professional because this is going to be used for my business. It is going to be running off the floor. As to the power issue, I suppose I just don't understand the concept. I just don't want to be caught in the rain with no umbrella. Does that make sense? I wanted to use a cute little metaphor that would bring a smile, however, I don't want to be the person to "Open my mouth and remove all doubt." haha |

Lol,
![]() That'd be the Antec 900 then. But yeah, the P150 is a fine case, very stylish and only slightly more expensive than the 900 now. Either will be a good addition to the build. Have a look at your sites and see if you can get either at (or under) budget, if you can't Have a look for the Jeantech Phong (pronounced 'fong' before anyone makes any fart jokes) NOT the Phong 2 as its not as good value for money. The Phong is a superb budget case.

Awesome thank you. I found the 900 for around $100 and watched a review on it and it looks great.
Now as the the PSU please explain this concept to me. The reason I am apprehensive is because I did one of those online calculations of the wattage needed and it equaled nearly 850w. Now if this is correct I just do not understand how something that is less than that is going to run the computer without causing errors. I suppose that not all the usable watts will be drained at once, but even at this it is going to be no less than 700. As stated before I must not have a good understanding of this. If you could please explain to me how this works. Thank you so much. |

Antec 900 ftw i have one works great kicks but... i dont know much about psu's but i would say its best to go with a very good one as you don't want it to fail and boom your elite computer is fried. You must also put into account that you are most properly gonna upgrade and you wouldn't wanna have to buy a whole new psu just cause your new components are not working at there best... oh yes and you wouldn't need a new cpu fan cause the intel fan and the antec 900 will keep your cpu at about 20c/ 40c at full load unless your overcloacking... i have that very same cpu...
