he`s using a a E8500 with a 9800gt and 4gb ram and two 2x1tb hard drives

Obviously Carbon's the one to ask, but just my input - never head of them, so they're probably awful.

Having said that people probably wouldn't have ever heard of Corsair (for PSU's) all that long ago, and they're brilliant.

They are cheap one`s m8 told him to get a corsair or antec, maybe even one from pc world( at least he can take it right back if it goes wrong or blows his pc) but he is is on a budget of £40
