I bought an ultra aluminus case at a yard sell awhile back.Didn't notice till now when starting my build that I have no rails.Called ultra and they said they don't sell parts for a case.So does anybody know what rails would fit.Tried to google drive rails and nothing exept dell rails, would they fit?Nobody seems to carry these things.

Why do you need rails exactly? Just screw it in :p

The case is an Ultra Aluminus, thought you needed rails to make up the space so the drive has something to sit on.

No, a lot of cases don't come with rails. Most just have screw holes on the sides that hold the HDD in place. They don't need anything to sit on if you just make sure the screws are tight :p

You could mod it. It's just a different mind-set. Consider that you could really build a wooden case and put your computer components in that. (Yes, it's been done.) It's only a box.

Once you're thinking that way, rails are pretty basic. If not, take a slow wander through a big hardware store. You'll be spoiled by choice. You can actually mod the rails from metal, plastic, or wood. You can even add something soft, such as felt from a fabrics store, to dampen vibration.

Just watch out for your ventilation needs, so your rails are positioned nicely. If you do mod the thing, you'll probably feel pretty good about it after—'cause it will be "your own"; one of a kind. Good luck.
