The point I was trying to make was don't get a 350 or whatever when the system had a 500.

Ok everyone it says 300 W on the side of power box thingy :)

Isit easyer to put it in the shop as i might change the psu and it still might not work :S ?

Rough idea how much it could cost me ?

A PSU is around £25

If it isn't that its probably motherboard @ £50ish

You may need RAM, graphics card card and/or CPU depending on how old your current motherboard is. Lets asume £150ish.

If you are completely PC illiterate and changing a PSU seems daunting, go down the repair shop route.

What spec is your machine?

Right click 'My Computer' on your desktop and select properties.

The Processor and RAM info will be at the bottom of the window that opens.

I did state in the info on my 1st post that the computer doesnt start when i press the start button on the front of the tower nothing happens

Thanks for you trying to help me out.
There isnt a sticker on it as in my 1st post again LOOL i did state it was built by my dad who bought all the part seperately a while back with the clear case with neons etc looked teh bollox when he made it, but as he left us all i dont know to much about what spec it is or how to fix it :(

My dad was the computer wizard not me lol
