hey i was just disassembling my computer to move back to my home over winter break and i noticed that the power cord to the PSU was EXTREMELY hot to the touch. on the power cord it reads:
(UL) SJTW-A VW-1 18AWGX3C "Dry 105* and water resistant 60*C" CSA 18AWGX2C FT2 105* ok... quick specs on the computer... EAGLE COOL POWER 550W Power supply 4GB RAM OCZ high speed memory with heatsinks AMD 2.2Ghz PHENOM x4 9500 Quad core ASUS M2R32-MVP ATI radeon xpress 3200 chipset (any additional information about this motherboard would be nice... i cant find much and it was since discontinued :( ) XFX Geforce 8600 gt 256MB ANTEC NINE HUNDRED CASE and for cooling... THERMALTAKE CL-W0121 bigwater 760i liquid cooling system i also have some other minor junk... TV tuner card Wireless card Heatsinks for memory, north bridge, HDD, etc... oh and 250 gb hdd and 2x dvd-rw drives. total of 5 case fans, 4x120mm 1x200mm (believe it or not all this for under $900...) which brings me back to my origional problem, my power supply cord is HOT HOT HOT... and when i say hot i mean hot... and i run my pc almost 24/7... what do u think i should do about it? leave it be and forget about it? If the cord itself is getting hot, then there has to be a fault with the PSU.

A Google for that PSU shows a cheapo/cheerful untit @ $24.95, so I would guess that is probably why. Try a new PSU .... (Corsairs are good valur for money and efficient) .... definitely dont ignore it, as this may cost you big time. My System: Home Build
