Please help. i just bought all the stuff i needed to build my computer. I'm kind of a newbie so i had my dad help me. Anyway i was so excited because today i got the last of the stuff i needed. So i went and built my computer today, i put everything together, and when i powered it up, the PSU fan came on and the CPU fan came on. I turned it off and the turned it back on and then it just wouldn't come on. We tried everything but we still can't figure it out. I have an Asus M3N78 Pro mobo. with a AMD X2 Dual Core CPU, Patriot 2GB DDR2 Ram, it has a built in GeForce 8300 card. Also when i plug in the PSU the green light on the motherboard stays on, SO i was just wandering if it could still be a problem with the power supply.

Sounds like it could be, that or the motherboard. PSUs commonly power LEDs and fans despite being faulty. Get the PSU swapped to be sure then move on. You still have the lead from the case switch connected to the mobo?

Why would you diagnose a problem (probably correct), and then never state the make/model of the PSU?
