Default keeps turning off

Hi

Any one got a clue what is going on with my computer it a dell dimensions 8400 and it keeps turning itself off if you have been on it for more few hours and if you turn it off after you have been on more than a few hours it will not come back on. the light just flashes orange, it will stay like this for about 24hours before it will come back on agian.

Any ideas please

Default keeps turning off

Could be a dodgy power supply.

I would also suggest opening it up and cleaning all the fans from dust, using a 1" paint brush and a hover is ideal.

Just in case it's overheating. :)

It could be a heat problem but that would be a very long time for it to stay hot or it could be a power supply problem
You should check to see if your fan is spinning on your CPU
The only real way to check to see if it is the power supply is to take it out and try a different one and if you have a fan on your power supply check to see if that is spinning also ,but because it is a Dell taking your side panel off may void your warranty so check first!
