Default noise!

Well I have recently built my computer over christmas but it make a hell of a noise, between the CPU fan and the PSU, the case fans are silent though but i was hoping that there would be someway to make it quieter?

Any Suggestions?

Purchase an after market hsf for the cpu (Arctic cooling freezer 7 or freezer 64 depending on your cpu) very quiet and very good cooler's.

You could also purchase new case fans, Zalman do a model called the zm-f3, a 120mm fan, it gives a good balance between noise and the amount of air it moves. (There's also the zm-f1 80mm and zm-f2 92mm). Runs off a 12v line, but comes with a resistor to reduce the voltage to 7.5, lowering the air volume but also the noise.

Aside from that, you can also buy rubber fan mounts that reduce shudder when a fan is spinning.

Maybe also get a new hsf for your graphics card, Accelero do a decent one, so do Zalman.

There's many ways to reduce the noise when your pc is running, just have a look at www.quietpc.co.uk. Awesome site.

Have to agree on Zalman. It makes a LOT of difference. They're big but they are simply excellent also pricey but worth it. I've got two desktops and on both I had the orginal Intel coolers, one started to make noise after a few years up to a point that it became really annoying. To make a long story short, I've replaced both with Zalman's, less noise, better cooling.

Then there are the other ways.... But hydrocoolers are very very expensive, they can however make a pc completly silent but the price is a little too high.
