Rest of p.c spec?

Temps prior to this happening? crashes?

Did you switch the voltage on the psu to your region?

Do you have surge protection or UPS? a 550 should eat your rigs needs.

You would know if it was the psu cause well from my experience when a psu stops working it normaly goes off with a small bang well most of the time. Open your computer connect the power cord to your psu there should be a little light coming from the motherboard indacating that it has power...

I had problem with my dads pc (wouldnt turn on) what i did was unplugged it totaly from the wall and left it for like 10 secconds and plugged it back in and switched it on and it worked... If it doesnt try unplugging the hard drive power cable and see if it boots up... If still nothing try eliminating components cd/dvd drive floppy...

Power supplies are notoriously bad links in the PC hardware chain.

Spend a bit more on the next one instead of buying a cheap OEM PSU and it should last longer.

Also power surge protector sockets help.
