Hi, I am new to this forum and I recently built a new computer, the specs are as follows:
Case: Antec 900
Processor: Intel QX9650
Motherboard: Intel DX38BT
Memory: Corsair twin3x2048-1333C9G DDR3
HDD: Samsung HD501LJ 500GB
Power Supply: Silverstone ST75F 750W
DVD: Liteon LH-20AIL
Video Card: Leadtek Winfax GeForce PX 8800 GTS 512 MB

After setting the computer up and turning it on it worked for all of 5 minutes before the power supply packed it in. In other words when supplying power only the green light on MB came on. I don't know why the power supply quit, if you have an idea or better yet know what went wrong i would really appreciate your help in this matter. My suspicion is that maybe the power supply could not handle the load, but once again i am not sure.

Cheers,
Jasper

Whats the brand of your psu?

What's the max wattage?

And what amps are supplied on each (should it have more than one) 12v rail and 5v rail?

What tells you the psu quit? Did it go 'pop' ?

Hi alex, the PSU is a Silverstone ST75F, its max wattage is 750W.
30 amps on 5V rail
there are 4 12V rails and they are all 18 amps
I was not around when the computer failed, i am assuming that it is the PSU because no fans or anything turn on, i am not greatly experienced on the hardware side of computers, and thats why i am seeking help on this forum.

Cheers,
Jasper
