Help me out please. My Asus EN9600GT brand new card is having problems running, and after reading the requirements (after becoming pissed off at how hard detailed system requirements are to find on the internet), I found something new on the requirements that says:

-A minimum 400W system power supply(with 12V current rating of 26A)

12V Current rating at 26A? What?

Checking the box for my new Antec Neopower 650W, it says:

+12V1 = 19A
+12V2 = 19A
+12V3 = 19A

I have no clue what this means but does it say that my power supply, despite the fact that it comes with a PCI-E connector for a graphics card, cannot support this card? I find it absolutely ridiculous, as all the cards I have found that require their own source of power need at least 26A aswell!

What do I do? Do I downgrade my card till I can support one? Closest I found was the 8600gt, which doesn't require an alternate power supply.

I have not been able to find a 650W power supply with a 26A rating at a 12v current.

Are you sure it has to be 650W? It could be more/less watts but could have 26A rating.

It's fine. But in the future don't buy multi-rail PSUs nor anything from Antec but Earthwatts.

Multi-rail Power Supplies?

>.> :( What? I'm a newbie at this.. and I swear I read a lot of reccomendations that led me to Antec but... I guess they were wrong..

Fine for what? My card definately isn't working, will the 8600gt work?

And Earthwatts is better? It's too late I already bought the Antec Neopower 650W one :(

Sorry, i misread your original post: thought it was working but you were worried. A 9600GT should be fine on 19A. It doesn't take 26Ax12V = 312W of power. At load it takes under 200W.

You have a defective PSU or a defective card. An 8600GT would be an extreme downgrade, focus on getting your current card working. You say it doesn't work but you don't elaborate: what exactly happens? Does it not show video? Does it crash upon playing games? Does it restart? Is this a new build? Do you have onboard video that works?

Read the power supply section here for an explanation of power supplies and their attributes.
