Please help me. I was doing some computer maintenance on my desktop and was just about done. Then I decided to plug everything in and before turning my pc on I flipped the voltage from 115 to 230 on my eg565p psu. My computers lights turned on and then my surge protector outlet's circuit tripped and i uthe computer and the surge protector turned back on. I tried switching it back and with different outlets, but it didn't work :(. No smoke came out or anything, very wierd. It won't turn on anymore. I think i obviously fried the niPSU so need some thoughts before I go and buy a new one. Do you think i fried anything else? Everything seems fine, no smoke nothing. I want to get it looked at, but im a college student and I barely have any money as is :(. Help please!

Aside from fuses, sounds like the PSU, could be much more to be honest. Probably a good idea to never do that again.

It's toast. If it's not the kind of PSU that will figure voltage out itself there's nothing you can do but buy a new one.

I tried it once on an old crappy comp, the only thing it took out was the PSU so you might be lucky!

If you're in the USA like your flag suggests - why did you go to 230 anyway??

Oh ok, my bad

Although, I can see how it'd fry the PSU the other way round, but if you run 110V through something designed and tested at 230V.. whats the issue?

It may not work, but I don't see why it'd break..

if you put a PSU set to 110v into a UK power connector, it makes one hell of a bang, trust me.......

heyy, it was gonna be binned anyway! always wondered what would happen if you did it
