Default PSU Wattage?

Hey up Dave.

An e6750 at stock needs around 65w, a 8600GT needs, depending on factory oc, around 45w.

But as you're oc'ing both and taking into account your other components I'd be looking at a decent 500w.

Anything above is overkill.

But also taking into account upgrading i'd be looking for a 600w.

Sorry, just poking fun.

Picking a number then adding another 100 isn't the best of advice.

PSU wattage is generally governed by the hardware you are running so I was looking for something more concrete based on my PC spec.

Its ok to be honest i completely missed your spec and didnt finish reading your question i thought you were not sure what your current wattage was but re-reading your question i see my answer was very off the the mark

Vista all the way, I don't get all the haters.

It's better in so many ways.

-for one thing you can turn off sound to whatever application you wish. for instance. let's say you're doing a skype call. and you want to play an internet game. you can turn off sound to the internet browser, and continue your skype call without annoying background noise. there's one nice aspect.

-it forces your hardware to put out as much performance as possible. why have such nice hardware if you aren't going to use all of it? so good for vista on that one.

-it has proven to be a stable gaming platform. and it offers directx10. admittedly, not a lot of games use it, but it does show marked visual enhancements.

-it grows more stable as time goes by as it will actively conform to what you do everyday

there's a few that i care to think of off the top of my head. it all depends on if you have the right hardware for it or not. you can't be running a single core, with 1 gig of RAM, and a graphics card from the pci era and expect it to work like a charm.

and Dave, frankly i'm with the guys that say that it's ok to go a little bit over what you need. an enermax liberty 620 watt would compliment your specs nicely. and it's not that expensive. over kill or not, i would rather be safe than sorry.

I disagree, people just like to jump on the hater bandwagon.

People only open their mouths when they want to complain.

It's better looking, slicker, more stable and better to work on from an engineer point of view.
