| I'm looking to get around 4 to 6 of the quietest 120mm fans out there, and came across this ebay page http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PURE-SILENCE-8...QQcmdZViewItem Can an unbranded model really push up to 44-60cfm of air and still be only 8-11db? They even put the SilenX and the Acoustifan to shame

| Those figures are utter rubbish. To shift that amount of air your typical 120 will need to run at, I'd guess, 2k rpm, which creates noise. I don't know of any fan (and I've bought and fitted a lot) that runs at 8dba. A lot of 120's also can't shift that amount of air. If you want a good 120 that gives a balance between noise and CFM then get the Zalman ZM-F3. If you want a quiet fan (and I do mean quiet) that still shifts in the region of 25-30cfm you want Arctic Cooling's AF12025L. Both these fans are rather cheap as well.

| Cheers for clearing that up! I will have a look at those fans but by the looks I will go for the Arctic Cooling.

| Another factor to take into account is the fact that unbranded fans tend to be very unreliable. I've had a few 80mm fans from different sites, in each case have left the room, only to return and find the fan in pieces, completely unrepairable. You could always look it up on other sites, and see if other people have used the fans. |
