EDIT*
Actually, aren't the double ended molex's parallel'd anyway?

Not too sure but I think if you chain them up you have a parrallel rather than series circuit anywho.

If you do run them series it's not a problem, but you will notice decreased performance, simple electronics, you probably did it in like Year 6, I'm not trying to lecture you. But if you join up several bulbs in a row from one battery, the furtherest one from the battery will be weaker than the first in line - and a gradual change accordingly imbetween.

It's Watts = Volts ..... Coming into affect.
..................Amps
Sorry to be a spoilsport

First of Watts = Volts x Amps. I remember it by thinking that the maximum wattage electric heater you can buy that you can plug into a wall socket is 3000Watts and the socket can deliver 13A max, and the voltage is always 230V, so it is easy to work out from there. Strange, but its always worked for me.

And molexes will join together in parallel. All the fans will run at max speed. To do it in series, you would have to do some rewiring.

And as for the lamps in a line demo... if there are 3 of them in series, they will all be at the same reduced brightness, not going from bright to dim.

The voltage is at the same difference anywhere on a series circuit.

Spoilsporting over.

Ah, the perils of poorly designed full-towers.

No worries, where would we be on the forums (or indeed in life generally) if noone corrected anybody?! That's why people come here in the first place

Yep, you're right.. and I'm kicking myself now because a little mini project that wouldn't work a few days ago because it was late and I was tired (altough actuall as it turns out was down to me having misremembered and convinced myself it the wrong way round..) is now working perfectly

So thanks for that, and Razer, that migt explain why you didn't get A*

Not sure what went wrong when I learn the series/parrallel thing with bulbs... maybe they were different watt bulbs anyway!
(Or perhaps I'm misremembering again..)

But at least I was right about the parrallel molex thing

Update

RAM didn't work, PC fans work great and are noisy as hell! =D=D=D

Had to get a new mobo, seems to work but need RAM and OS disk is knackered! Getting it RMA'd then we shall see what goes wrong next!

get a fan controller, or do a 7v mod on the fans, if theyre decent fans a lower RPM wont have a huge effect on airflow, but a big effect on noise :-)

I like the noise though, let's me know it;s working. Turn the fans low and it's no louder than my current PC so that's good. Just wish I knew why it wasn't chuffing working. Hope its the RAM.

Turn it on, 1-2 mins later it freezes. Bios says on freeze about 25 degrees CPU, dont think the GPU is overheating cos the fan comes on to cool it down.. Unplugged everything that doesn't need to be connected to work, fans were off, hdd was off, DVD was on, Mobo was on, CPU fan was on, RAM went down to one stick (Tried a friends RAM, got further but when vista loaded files, restarted and crashed again) so I'm lost at what to do. When the PC loads, BIOS comes up with XFX logo, get an error about CMOS checksum bad, reset that numerous times using a button and the battery. Really am lost and was getting quite upset when I couldn't figure it out..

No more than 1 stick and even then no more than 2GB for installing Vista.

I don't think this is always an issue, but it's certainly very common.

If it still don't work see if you can get hold of like a 512 or something..

Tried a friends 1 Gb stick, got further but when the bar loaded, the PC went off and restarted leaving a black screen and nothing happened, just sat there doing bugger all. Expensive mobo so I hope it isn't that or I'll have to rip it out! =(

you can daisy chain as many fans as you like..BUT more than 4 on one molex 12v rail will cause the psu to stress ( kill the performance and life span of the psu. so if you want more than 4 fans running i would daisy chain a max of 4 fans to one 12v rail cable. hope this helps

The fans are fine, the rest of the PC isnt! haha.

Got 2 on each molex adapter and one has a fan and DVD drive. No stress there I hope.

Just gotta wait for PC World (I know, it's a sin) to get back on which bit is faulty. Guarantee it wont be their blasted motherboard! lol
