I'm in the process of making a concept for a case mod and want to have a track pad on the computer which you touch to turn on. I was thinking about using one of these or something similar like a DS screen. I am wondering though if it is possible at all to turn a track pad into a power switch? I'm fairly sure it would involve some form of extra circuit and I'm willing to design and make that too, that doesn't bother me.
Any help and info would be great thanks! Razer |

Ah, neat idea.
It should be relatively simple, as best I know, I think you should just have to make circuit that is basically just when theres a circuit completed in any of the trackpad contacts, it joins the 2 poles together, that is usually done by a regular button. Something like this: + goes to switch side 1 track layer 1 - goes to track layer 2 track layer 2 goes to switch side 2 If you chose exactly the right pad you may not even need any extra components, just some simple wiring, however you'll have to look into that to see if you need any resistance.
