So I was looking behind my computer trying to solve a different problem. I was frustrated with the problem and figured nothing I do will make it worse. So I saw the number was set at '115' and switched it to '320' and curiously and stupidly, I turned my computer on. My computer turns on and goes dead after 2 secs and I dont think it's gonna turn on anymore.

I might have destroyed something, did I? what to do now?

Sounds like you have changed your power supply voltage. At a guess you have probably blown your motherboard and possibly damaged other parts

Thanks for the reply Zerocool. Yeah I figured haha. It's at the shop right now. IF it's just the power supply that needs changing, does it really take 2 hours to do that? I get that he needs to run diagnostic tests..

I will get the test results tomorrow afternoon.

Shouldn't take two hours, it's usually a pretty quick job, but if he's testing for other stuff failing than that's reasonable.

I agree with Carbon there shouldn't take 2 hours to change, I had a friend that changed the power supply voltage settings. The power supply was fine but the motherboard and memory had to be changed as it had blown.

I would charge an hour to swap that out, man, that was a silly thing to do.

Thanks for your replies, guys. I got my computer back. He only charged for 1 hour. whew. My video card is broken but the fan still works. He doesn't know why it's broken either. He swapped it for a weaker 6000 series geforce 256mb for $75 and PS 550W for $100. Does that sound right?

Hahaha, no. $75 buys you a gaming-level card and $100 buys you a modular Corsair PSU. Even with labor factored in that's insane.
