ive ordered one of these and i know you can connect up to 6 3 pin fans but what i want to know is will all the fans be running at 12volt as they should be, or will the controller give them a lesser voltage

The controller may vary their voltage to vary their speed, but if they have 3-pins hooked up they shouldn't need that and they should be running at 12V just with modulated speed.

ive got a 6 channel fan controller, though not a zalman, which runs all 6 channels at about 11v when theyre all turned up, and a bit more when only a few are turned up to full.
the idea is obvously that you can change the voltage to lower the noise and power consumption (if that a issue)
difference between 11v and 12v makes practically no difference though, so i wouldnt worry,

all i can say is thats pretty good 6 channels running at 11V each from one 12v input, thats amazing i think but its about the current really isnt it because all 6 channels may be running at 11V but the current or wattage to all 6 channels may not be the same as i dont know if you plug it in your PSU

Running several things at a particular voltage isn't a big deal, running several things at a particular amperage is.
