Default Camcorders

I desperately need a new camcorder but can't figure out who has the best gear for the lowest price. I can't use the new logitech webcam my husband got because it requires way too much lighting for my needs.

I have looked at Sony but would feel better if a human, who wasn't trying to make a sale, would give me their opinion.

Bueller...anyone?

Hey Sage.

How are you going to be using it? Statically on a tripod, handheld?

General family filming or something specific in mind?

Lastly, whats your budget?

I am going to use it to create video clips ala Youtube for my cosmetics site and I want it to double as a webcam. I guess I am going to use it anyway possible outside of looking at the insides of sewer systems or the human body.

Some how Sage I have a vague feeling that camcorders cannot conduct endoscopy experiments.
