Help!
I've just got a Pixma MP540, gone through all the set-up stuff but at the point when I connect the computer to it via USB and turn it on my computer freezes!
I have tried a new USB cable but it makes no difference.
Is it terminal?

Could try the following;

Un-install and re-install all the software and driver.

Maybe try updated software and driver from the manufacturers website if there is one.

If not remove the USB drivers from device manager and reboot, let them re-install.

Also if you haven't done so already, try a different USB Port, preferably one on the back of the PC, not the front.

Hi,
Have tried a new port but it has no effect. Regarding the usb drivers, do I uninstall all of them listed including the root hubs? Never done this level of uninstalling before! Will they automatically reinstall? My computer has now recognised the printer but it is still freezing as soon as I turn the printer on.

Remove all the USB Controllers and reboot .... Windows will reinstall them automatically at boot up.
