Do you get any error messages at all from the installation of the driver? If so, what exactly does it say?

Hmmm, did the installation softwrae come with the printer or have you downloaded it from the net?

Are you absolutely sure the printer is a dell photo printer 720? (I know it's a silly question, but it pays to be %100 sure)

Is there a readme with the installation software? Does it state that the printer must be connected before the installation or after it?

Sorry for all the questions but we have to get to the root cause of your problem. :)

Ok, you may well need to do a fresh install in order to get it to work. Have a look in windows\inf and see if you can locate any information that looks to be the driver and delete it and try the install again.
