Try updating the printer drivers, you should be able to get them from the cannon website if you hunt around a bit.

Is it possible that the printer is pre-processing the pics under certain circumstances? eg, contrast enhancement?

How are you printing from My Documents? What button are you pressing to make it print?

It might be that you are printing a sort of preview, rather than printing the full resolution picture.

Yea, that's possible, what quality are you printing at? because atleast with my printer, if you print at draft quality, it's very faded.

THINGIE,MIKE0001and SERVERGUY,Many Thanks Mates for trying to help,What you have to Remember, being Computer Illiterate, you only have to say Driver update to me to start baffling me,,But to start with,When I go as I always have into Documents,I select a Folder of Photos and select the 1 that I want to print, and right click on it to open then go to the print sign and click on it and thats it,but with this Prtinter I do the same and it starts to print ,BUT when the photo appears it is all there but just a faded version,I got on the phone to the TECH GUYS on my Warranty at Currys last night for over 3/4 of an hour, and in the end they did a series of what ever and took over my Screen so that they could try to remedy it,and in the end they couldnt, and finally said as you guys sugested to try Canon for Drivers,But as I said earlier,if I connect my Camera lead to the USB on the Printer, the photo is Perfect, the same as when I get a photo up in Picassa,Can anyone help out on what Driver,Please,Many Thanks guys I have got these but which 1 http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010526.asp

I would suggest number 25. on that page. I think thats the one you need.

It is a crap show by Currys if they leave you with it still not working and tell you to update the drivers.

If it still doesn't work I suggest you go back into the shop and speak to them there. Tell them your problem and say teh Tech Guys didn't fix it. Hopefully they will give you a different model or similar.

They cannot just give you a printer that doesn't work as advertised.

__________________Hi Serverguy,Nope Downloaded it and its still the same, Considering that the Printer is working through my camera and Picassa,Would it be possible that they would change it,When I was speaking to a Shop Tech guy at the Store we bought it from and I said we bought this Compaq tower about March,to replace our other 1,but it would not Scan only Print with the printer we had before this one,,eventhough some one down loaded a Driver for that 1,So he knew that I wanted a all in 1 printer that would work with the Compaq tower that I have,Many Thanks,

I assume you got some sort of warranty with it?

What I suggest you do is take both the printer and the computer into the store, and explain that you just bought it and were told that it would work.

Let them sort it out and don't leave until it is fixed, or you have a new printer that they have shown to be working.
