Anyone in the UK ever used any of the Flip Video products? http://flipvideo.co.uk/
I'm trying to find a digital camcorder for around $100-$150 and needless to say there aren't many choices for a well known brand. I don't like buying "off-brand" electronics but if these are well known and reliable I might give it some more serious thought. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=7964522 |

No, but The Gadget Show (a tech show in the UK) seems to like it. Top ten gadget of 2008. There's some videos at the bottom (which are probably not region locked... only the US seems to worry about that)

Being German... I cannot recommend it. Their products never seem to work well for me.
Also, Gadget Show has one major issue, they ignore the price. |

Well I found an issue with them that I don't like. They run on separate batteries. I will usually only buy items like this that have a rechargeable battery.
![]() For the lifetime of the product you could end up spending thousands on batteries and that to me isn't worth it. |

I have had a Flip Camrecorder for about two months now, mine uses 2x"AA" batteries and I am still using the original ones, easy to get throughout the world .
Only problem I find is that the computer you use to download to must be better than 2Ghz speed, I tried it on a laptop of 1.8Ghz and it wouldn't work! I usually download it as if it,s an external drive as it,s quicker and easy. Great little machine, remember it's a BASIC machine, "it does what it says on the box" I carry mine everywhere we go and find it ideal. I tried it in a dark room, the picture is grainy but viewable when used without any external lights. Only paid £65-00 for it! I would advise anyone buying one to get the extension USB lead. |
