| I never feel I get good life out of digital batteries. Lithuims seem to last about the same for me. |

| If you mean last longer on each charge, the only way of doing that is looking at features on the camera that you can switch off when using it. The primary killer of battery life on digi cameras is the optical zoom and the viewfinder/information screen on the rear and also the flash This is of course if the camera has a menu or two allowing you to switch some things off. You're not going to be able to do much about the optical zoom because you'll be using that pretty much for every shot. I wouldnt recommend using the digital zoom if your camera has one because in a word or four digital zooms are crap.:D . you may be able to switch off the screen at the rear of the camera and just view the scene through the standard viewfinder at the top of the camera. The only problem with these are,due to their limited size, they don't really give a view thats representative of the scene. So i'd look at using the flash less (you may have to reduce the shutter speed slightly to still get a good exposure but you can hand hold a camera for a good shot at anything down to 1/30th of a second). This is of course only for scenes already lit, if you're outside for instance. I'd maybe not recommend turning off the flash when shooting inside with lights/lamps etc as the tungsten contained within the bulbs will create a yellow tinge to your shots, unless you wan't to tidy this effect up using Paint shop pro or similar software. These are just ideas and to give you and idea of what you could do. Best bet is to have a look at the camera's menus and see what you can live without and then see if the unit allows you to switch them off. Or, you could just purchase an extra set of batteries to carry with you. Any questions get back to us.
